How to improve your health through easy exercises
Closely related to Shiatsu and Acupressure, Do-In is a form of Japanese self-massage designed to stimulate the flow of ki, or "life energy", throughout the body. It originated as a way of maintaining good health, similar to Qigong or yoga, but is now usually practiced as a form of self-help Shiatsu. Daily practice aims to tone skin and muscles, improve circulation and flexibility, ease aches and pains, and encourage mental clarity and emotional stability.Read more
Kindle
Sometimes we are regarded as traditional and not up to date with modern technology, so to prove the contrary I write today an article about the Kindle; it is a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers.
For regular readers it is very ecological as no paper needed anymore to print books, and no distribution anymore, so more carbon neutral. And the books are cheaper than real books too.Read more
The Blue Zones
National Geographic Explorer Dan Buettner has traveled the globe to uncover the best strategies for longevity found in the Blue Zones: places in the world where higher percentages of people enjoy remarkably long, full lives. He found 4 of those Zones: one on the Nicoya Peninsula (Costa Rica) , one in Sardinia (Italy), one in Loma Linda (USA CA.) and one on Okinawa (Japan).
And for every place there were other reasons for longevity, but one reason was the same: no (or less) meat, regular work outs and a sunny environment.
In Nicoya he found that the people drink hard water, with a good combination of magnesium and calcium (for this we should eat more kale and broccoli), and the last meal of the day was the smallest one. Most centenarians worked every day on the fields or in the garden and lived with their family, which gives them a happy social life. Read more

The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Medicine - by Maoshing Ni , Ph.D.
This book, I bought for "sentimental" reasons; it is like reading a bible; not very usefull in these modern days, but it gives a lot of inspiration and it pushes us to transform the old ideas into the new light of modern times.
Of course, this is not the first translation of the Neijing Suwen , it is one of the most recent translations (1995), but it is the author that adds a dimention to this book.
Dr. Mao is an anti-aging expert, doctor of Chinese medicine and the author of the best-selling book, "Secrets of Longevity." Merging the ancient wisdom of Eastern medicine with the modern advances of Western medicine, Dr. Mao has spent years studying centenarians in China and combing through archives of Taoist longevity classics. He is also a Tai Chi master.
